Interfaith
Temple Or Olam warmly welcomes interfaith families.
Dr. Barbara Thiede has developed a number of programs on interfaith topics. These programs have included introductions to Jewish prayer and observance, discussions of biblical scriptures and Jewish history, and text studies on the causes of religious violence. She was an advisor for the Levine Museum of the New South’s exhibit on the three Abrahamic faiths and co-organized events with local churches such as McGill Baptist Church, Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, and Trinity United Church of Christ. This spring, Dr. Thiede is organizing or participating in the following events (refer to our calendar for a complete list of upcoming events):
- May 28, 2009: “Understanding Jews and Judaism in Modern Times,” Rotary Club of Cabarrus County, Concord.
- June 04, 2009: “Issues in Caring for Jewish Patients,” Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast, Concord.
